Leeds 'A' 0 v 2 York 25th January
Leeds began the game with determination but were penned back by an ebullient York team, who came out like 'dogs off a leash!' They pressed and pressed not allowing Leeds any time to get the ball down and play. It was to a) clear the ball and b) keep possession.
The first goal came when having got the ball into a wide area the ball was carelessly given away and with a quick passing movement the ball was rifled home past Jake Watkins. During this period, resolute defending was all that Leeds could do and great praise must go to Bradley Wilson, Jameel Ible, Richard Vennard and Will Lenehan for a gutsy display.
Great credit to York for a well rehearsed game plan but warm condolences to a brave Leeds team, who never gave up, tackled with endeavour and tried to play football on a 'bobbly' surface.
At the moment York seem to have the sign over us but we meet again shortly in another cup so we still have time to get their measure.
Leeds Schools FA 'A' 1 v York Schools FA 'A' 2 - 18TH December 2004
All hopes of an entertaining game of football between two very good sides were dashed when minutes into the game the heavens opened; freezing torrential rain then ensued for the next quarter of an hour. Both teams fought a battle not just against each other but against the elements as well. With Bradley Wilson [5 Lanes] and Ollie Roberts [Colton] combining well were unable to add to their goal tally.
The second half saw a reversal of the first with York being the team to dominate the play. With the weather worsening all the time, York appeared to deal with the conditions better than the Leeds lads. It was therefore no surprise when York first levelled the score and then went on to win the game.
U11 Leeds 'B' v Leicester 'B' 4th December 2004
After a sluggish first half which saw Leeds dominated but were unable to find the net against a stubborn Leicester the game was scoreless. The 2nd half was a different ball game with Leeds playing very well and Stephen Blower (ST. Augustines) in dominate form in midfield. A fine shot from Ashley Bell (colton) scorched into the net, quickly followed by a Toyan Dore (chapel Allerton) strike. The woodwork continued to defy Leeds with no fewer than 6 efforts striking post or bar. Eventually the effort that Leicester had made was rewarded with a goal following a scramble. Final score 2-1 to Leeds.

With Leeds pressing forward the Leeds midfield cohort led by the influential Ollie Roberts [Colton] created some space on the right wing allowing Glen Hewitt [T.Halton] to strike the ball home from some twenty yards out.
Leicester then had several successive attacks.
Both teams started the second half in energetic fashion, some great interchange of play between Brad Wilson [Five Lanes] and Dean Bartle [Hunslet Carr] put Joe Barden [Deighton Gates] through for the simplest of tap ins.
Leeds went even further ahead following a great move on the right flank with Glen Hewitt getting his second of the game with a powerful low drive.

CHESTER - LE-STREET 'A' v LEEDS SCHOOLS FA 'A' (18.09.03)
The Leeds Camp knew this was going to be a tough game and were proved right. Within seconds of the kick-off Chester-Le-Street pinned Leeds back on the defensive.
Leeds showed their character through strong defensive work Jack Contrino (SACRED HEART) and Tom Verney (WOODLESFORD) looked impressive with Glenn Hewitt (TEMPLENEWSAM HALTON )battling tirelessly. After a Leeds attack Chester-Le-Street broke forward and were fortunate when a long shot bounced high on the wet grass into the net deceiving Jake Watkins (WEST END) in the Leeds goal
With Leeds looking for an early reply, a penalty appeal was tuned down; Kurtis Wilkinson (BEECHWOOD) had taken charge in midfield and was unlucky with a long-range shot. Stephen Blower (ST AUGUSTINES) was also looking good for Leeds. Billy Law (CLAPGATE) then locked on to a long ball and with electrifying pace shrugged off two defenders and neatly beat the keeper. It was 1-1 and just for good measure Billy Law did exactly the same thing as before and scored again, putting Leeds in front.
Ashley Coffey (WESTERTON) now at left back settled well and looked good going forward. Joe Taiwo (ST JOSEPHS) led by example with both teams competing for possession a momentary lapse by Leeds allowed Chester-Le-Street to equalise. Game on - Again!
Playing against a stiffening breeze Joe Barden (DEIGHTON GATES) held off some stiff tackles to hit home with a lofted shot. There then followed some lovely football by Leeds, an excellent free kick on the Leeds left saw Tom Welsh (WESTERTON) score with a classy strike – surely a contender for goal of the season.
Both teams continued to play some excellent football with Leeds eventually shading it.

Nottingham Schools' FA 'B' v Leeds Schools' 'B' (25.09.03)
On a very wet Saturday morning this initially looked like a game that was up for the taking by Leeds. Nottingham looked very useful going forward but showed some defensive weaknesses.
Leeds took the lead after some fine football by Will Lenehen (CROSSLEY STREET) and Callum Hepples (ROTHWELL VICTORIA). A lovely long ball produced a cross that was well finished by Joe Barden (DEIGHTON GATES) to give Leeds the lead.
With Leeds dominating, their forwards were having difficulty finding the net and chances went begging. Against the play Nottingham equalised from a corner Robert Welford (ROBIN HOOD) in goal, who had previously showed some good handling skills made a valiant attempt but the shot was unstoppable.
The second half saw Leeds continue to surge forward with some lovely interchanges of play between defence and midfield. Ashley Bell (COLTON) and Ollie Roberts (COLTON) both went close for Leeds. Ashley Coffey (WESTERTON) and Taranjit Matharu (BEESTON PRIMARY) were communicating well and building attacks from the back. The Leeds right allowed a Nottingham player through and one on one with Jake Watkins (WEST END) now in the Leeds goal, Nottingham took the lead.
With Jack Contrino (SACRED HEART) now on the pitch, Leeds received their just desserts scoring several goals in succession, through Harry Woolaston (COLTON) 3, Joe Barden and Ashley Bell.
After the final whistle Leeds strength in depth had enabled them to win with relative ease. Full credit to Nottingham who never gave up.
